Battery Park a New York

State Street and Battery Place

Battery Park

Battery Park was designated as part of Harbor Park, a cluster of historic waterfront draws, by New York State in 1982. Numerous monuments in the park honor soldiers, inventors, explorers, and immigrants. For instance, the most recognized of these, the New York Korean War Veterans Memorial, or 'The Universal Soldier,' forms a silhouette through which visitors can view the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
