Elysian Park boasts a substantial recreational area of 600 acres, making it one of the largest parks in Los Angeles. Since its opening in 1886, the park has been used for shooting during the pentathlon event in the 1932 Summer Olympics, as well as for soccer, picnicking, hiking, and running.
