Mare Island Naval Shipyard a Vallejo

Mare Island Naval Shipyard is a former United States Navy shipyard located in Vallejo, California. Established in 1854, it was the first naval base on the West Coast and played a crucial role in the development of the US Navy's Pacific Fleet. During World War II, the shipyard was a major contributor to the war effort, repairing and building ships, and employing over 40,000 workers at its peak.
