Alcatraz a San Francisco

Alcatraz was once the ultimate maximum security prison, also known as 'The Rock.' Nestled on a lonely island in the middle of San Francisco Bay, it had held prisoners since the Civil War. But it wasn't until 1934, at the height of a major anti-crime campaign, that Alcatraz was re-fortified as the most secure prison on Earth. It is now transformed into a national recreation area.
