Eyre Square a Galway

American House Eyre Square

Eyre Square

Eyre Square, to the locals more known as the John F. Kennedy Memorial Park, is a central gathering place in Galway City. Its history dates back to medieval times when markets were held on the green in front of the town gates. In 1710, Mayor Edward Eyre donated this plot of land to the city. Nowadays, the park features a playground, along with the Browne family mansion doorway and the Quincentennial fountain. Plus, you can catch seasonal markets here.
