Mount Sinai, also known as Mount Horeb, is a mountain located in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. It is an important religious site for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. According to the Bible, it is where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God. Mount Sinai is also mentioned in the Quran as a holy site. Visitors can hike up the mountain and visit the Monastery of St. Catherine, which is located at the base of the mountain. The monastery was built in the 6th century and is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world. It contains many important religious artifacts, including a library that houses ancient manuscripts.
